Empack Spraytech Inc. has donated SunZone continuous spray and lotion sunscreens to the Golf to Conquer Cancer research at its annual golf fundraiser tournament.
The tournament was held on Monday, June 13 at the Coppinwood Golf Club and Granite Golf Club in the Uxbridge/Stouffville area. The event saw almost 200 people play golf to raise funds for cancer research, with SunZone giving free sunscreens to all attendees to help protect them from the sun. A total of $1.25 million were raised at the event.
Cameron Brown, Director of Sales and Marketing at Empack Spraytech Inc., said the company’s participation in the event is part of its commitment to serving local communities. “Events like Golf to Conquer Cancer raise much-needed funds for vital medical research, which is why we are very proud to have donated to this year’s tournament. Empack’s participation is part of our dedication to positively contribute to communities in the GTA and across Canada,” said Brown.
Golf to Conquer Cancer is Canada’s top-grossing single day golf fundraiser for cancer research and has previously raised $809,000 in 2014 and $1.33 million in 2015.
The event is a premium golf tournament and mostly targets corporate foursomes at a cost of $15,000 each. It is held by the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, which supports the work of the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.
The centre is one of the top five cancer research centres in the world and raises significant funds annually to fuel the global cancer research engine. It also continuously improves the care of the over 18,000 patients treated annually at the centre.
